A group of Jinns take food with the people:

Ibn Abid Dunya narrated from Yazid bin Yazid bin Jaber, one of the trustworthy Syrians from the younger Tabeyeen (followers, who met Sahabi alive). He said, “There are no people in a house except that there are jinns on the roof of their houses, and if lunch is laid, they descend down and have lunch with them, and dinner is like that.”(Ref.1)

“And Ahmad bin Solaiman An-Najjad said in his book “Amali Abi Bakr An-Najjad” (أمالى أبى بكر ألنجاد)

Aslam Ibn Sahl Bahshal told us, (He said) Ali Ibnul Hasan Ibnu Solaiman told us, he is Abu al-Sha`tha al-Hadrami, a teacher of Muslim Ibnul Hajjaj (Compiler of Sahih Muslim, He said :) Abu Muaweea told us, he said: I heard Al-A'mash saying, “Jinn came to us in the evening." I asked him which food is the most favorite to him. He said – the rice.” Al-A'mash said: “Then we brought rice to them. Then I began to see the handful of rice lifted up, but I did not see anyone. Then I said: You have these desires, which we have. He said: “yes”. So I said: What are the Rafidah (Rejectors of Islam) among you? He said: wicked of us.” (Ref.2)

The snake jinns:

Ibn Jarir said in his Tafsir:” A species of snakes are well known as Jin.” (Ref.3)

“Abdullah Ibn Muhammad Told us, Hisham Ibn Yusuf told us, Ma’mar told us on the authority of Zuhri from Salem from Ibn Umar (R.) indeed he heard Nabi (Sm.) delivering a speech on Mimbar(Mimbar is a high place in the mosque where the Imam stands to deliver Friday’s Khutbah)  He (Sm.) says “ kill snakes, kill snakes with two white lines on neck and snake with cut off the tail. ( The shape of this type of snake is measuring one hand span i-e Extension measuring of thumb to little finger). Because these two snakes make  the eyesight blur and drop the pregnancy i-e these two types of snakes cause miscarriage.”

In another Hadith- our beloved prophet (Sm.)  forbade the killing of snakes living in the house.

“Abdullah bin `Umar said-Once while I was following and searching for a snake to kill it, Abu Lubaba called me saying: Don't kill it, I said, indeed  Allah's Rasul (Sm.)ordered us to kill snakes. He said, But later on, he forbade the killing of snakes living in the houses and they are the permanent residents of  the House.”(Bukhari-3298 باب ذكر الجن ثوابهم وعقابهم –كتاب بدء الخلق -)

“Az-Zahri said: People of Arabic language said-the permanent residents of the houses are Jinns They are named Al-Awamer because of their long stay in the houses.

It is reported by Abu Sayeed (R.) as a Marfu Hadith. It means Allah’s Rasul (Sm.) said:

“Indeed there are permanent residents for these houses. When you see anything of that, express your embarrassment over that three times. If it goes away,(It’s ok) otherwise kill him.” Shahabuddin Ahmad Ibn Ali Ibn Hajr Al-Asqalani said-and the meaning of “express your embarrassment over that three times” is to say three times that- “ If you stay near us or appear to us or come back to us, you will be  in an uncomfortable and critical condition.” ( Ref.4)
